Reincarnated History: Denis Petrove's family immigrated to America shortly after his birth in search of new opportunities. It was the 1980s, during the time when the Soviet Union loosened its emigration controls. His father, a radical composer, had big dreams of spreading his music throughout the nation. He taught music to his two sons, drilling in the importance of composition into them and regaled them with wonderful tales of what they would have once he succeeded.It would, unfortunately, prove to bear little fruit. The Petroves wound up settling in the poorer parts of Locke City, where the constant stress of finding a job to support his family drove Mr. Petrove to seek comfort from the bottom of a bottle.
From an early age, Denis became a sort of caretaker for his family, managing the affairs and such with his older brother while his alcoholic father locked himself away in his room. His mother opened a deli that he helped out at during most of his free time. What little time he did have to himself was spent in his studies, which he began as soon as he learned how to filch books without being caught. It wasn't uncommon to see the gangly teenager behind the counter of the family deli with books stacked beneath his feet and before him.
The stories of detectives bringing justice to a dark and chaotic world had always caught his fancy and from early on set his career path. While his brother went on to become a musician, Denis managed to scrape together the funds to enter a decent college where he would study criminology before entering the Locke City police force. After several more years of training and a couple of successful (if questionably handled) cases, he was promoted to the position of detective, placed in Criminal Intelligence.
As of late there's been a buzz over "Numbers," a population in which Denis is awfully interested in. After the emergence and defeat of the Wise Snake, he would take it upon himself to try sniffing out any and all mysterious "superheroes" who've been hiding amongst the populace.
He would soon receive his biggest tips with a strange memory and a string of numbers running through his head. Upon discovering the network, he took on the alias of "Don Doe," intending to see how deep this rabbit hole would go...
First Echo: During the battle against the Wise Snake, Denis receives a strange memory of a huge and monstrous being. Weird.
